Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2, 2026

Introduction

LLC Keeper is a compliance filing service for multi-LLC real estate investors, allowing you to track LLCs across multiple states and obtain assistance with certain compliance filings. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to that information.

LLC Keeper is not a law firm and does not provide legal or tax advice. This policy applies to our website and application at llckeeper.com and all related services we provide under the LLC Keeper brand.

Information We Collect

Account and identity data. To create an account, you provide an email address. We use Supabase Authentication to manage sign-in: we send a one-time magic link to your email, and clicking it signs you in directly. No password is ever created or stored.

Google Sign-In is a planned alternative to magic-link, not yet live. When it launches, choosing to sign in with Google will request only your email address, name, and profile picture (the standard email, profile, and openid scopes). We will never request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, or any other Google service or data.

Profile data. After signup, you may provide your first name, last name, and home mailing address. This is used to prepare filings accurately and to correspond with you about your account.

Business (LLC) data. We store information about the LLCs you track: name, state, state-assigned registration or file number, registered agent name and address, principal business address, and formation date. You can enter this manually, or we can match your LLC against public government records we already mirror from state Secretary of State offices (California and Illinois bulk data feeds, and live public APIs for Texas, Iowa, and New York). That underlying source data is itself public government record, not private data, but your specific list of tracked LLCs is treated as your personal account data.

Session cookies. We use two HttpOnly cookies, llck_session and llck_refresh, to keep you signed in. HttpOnly means JavaScript cannot read them; they are used solely for authentication, never for advertising or cross-site tracking.

How We Use Your Information

  • Sign you in and keep you signed in securely
  • Send you compliance deadline reminders and hand you off to the right state filing portal
  • Correspond with you about your account, filings, and compliance reminders
  • Process payments for your subscription
  • Understand how the product is used, in aggregate (see Cookies and Analytics below)

Payment Information

All payment card and billing details are collected and processed directly by Stripe, our payment processor. Our servers never receive or store your full card number. We store only your subscription tier, billing status, and Stripe's own customer and subscription reference IDs, which tell us what you're subscribed to without us holding your card data.

When we do handle a filing on your behalf, any pass-through government filing fee is charged by Stripe as a separate transaction, not marked up: it passes straight through to the state.

Cookies and Analytics

We use PostHog, a product analytics tool, to understand how LLC Keeper is used (which pages are visited, which features are used). PostHog also records sessions (a replay of how you interact with the page) across the app, including after you sign in. Once you sign in, analytics and session data are tied to an internal account ID, not your email address or name. Before sign-in, analytics are anonymous. We do not sell this data or share it with advertisers.

Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following service providers to process data on our behalf:

  • Supabase: database hosting and user authentication
  • Stripe: payment processing and billing
  • Resend: transactional and reminder email delivery
  • PostHog: product usage analytics
  • Google: OAuth sign-in, a planned feature, used only when you choose to sign in with Google
  • Fly.io: cloud hosting for the application

What We Don't Do

  • We never sell your personal data to third parties.
  • We never file anything with a government agency without your specific, per-filing authorization for that filing.

Data Retention

We retain your account, profile, and LLC data for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period after cancellation in case you want to reactivate.

To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us by email. There is currently no self-serve "delete my account" option in the product; deletion is a manual request handled by our team.

Your Rights and Choices (California Disclosures)

You have the right to know what personal information we collect about you, to access it, to request correction, and to request deletion. Contact us at the email below to exercise any of these rights.

LLC Keeper does not currently meet the revenue or user-volume thresholds that trigger the full California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We follow privacy practices consistent with California's Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA) and the CCPA's principles anyway, as a matter of policy rather than current legal obligation at our size.

We do not sell personal information, so we don't offer an "opt-out of sale" mechanism: there is nothing to opt out of.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information: encrypted connections, HttpOnly session cookies, and database access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

LLC Keeper is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date, and notify you by email of any material changes.
